Biographical Note:

Nothing is known of this author, that may be a minstrel, given the placement of his two songs in the italian aphographs, in a zone mostly populated by minstrels. Resende de Oliveira1 mentions the existence of several homonyms both in Portugal and Galicia, or even in Leon. The hypothesis, put forward by Manuel de Boaventura2, of him being natural of Vila Chã, Esposende, where there’s a village bearing his name, seems less consistent to this researcher.
