Biographical Note:

Nothing of concrete is known about this author, who may have been a galician minstrel, given the placement, in the italian aphographs, and in an area of minstrels, of his only preserved song. Anyway, as Resende de Oliveira points out1, his surname, widely used in the medieval western Peninsula, is equally documented in noble families.
