Biographical Note:

Portuguese troubadour, active in the mid-13th century. His lineage, being certainly gentry, is documented in the basin region of the river Vez, an affluent of the Lima, there being equally reports of the troubadour’s upbringing in the village of S. Salvador de Sabadim (Valdevez)1. His satirical songs, dealing with themes and characters equally satirized by authors within Alfonso X’s circle, seem to point to him having been in Castile in the decade of 40, possibly accompanying the Sousas, in a path that could be similar to João Garcia de Guilhade. We do not know, however, neither the concrete data of this path nor of his biography.
