Pero Velho de Taveirós
Trovador medieval

Nationality: Galega

Biographical Note:

Galician troubadour, active in the initial stage of the peninsular troubadourean song. Brother of the troubadour Paio Soares de Taveirós, as noted in the explicative item of the tenção (exchange) in which both intervene, Pero Velho would be member of a Galician gentry lineage, possibly connected to the magnate Dom Rodrigo Gomes de Trava. In the absence of any documentation concerning him, it is possible that he was the son of one Vasco Peres de Taveirós, documented in the Pontevedra region (where Taveirós is located) in 12671.
