Mendinho
Jogral medieval

Nationality: Galega

Biographical Note:

We know nothing about this author, that would have been a galician minstrel, judging by his only preserved song, where he sings the San Simon hermitage, most possibly in the small homonym island in the Vigo estuary. Being very difficult to locate a character from whom we have but one name, the researchers from the Lirica Profana put forward, however, some hypotheses and suggestions (from the portuguese homonyms mentioned by Resende de Oliveira1, to galician toponyms, like Mendo, a place in the Teis parish (Vigo), or the medieval Meendinhos street, in Pontevedra2)
